HÀ NỘI — Representatives from the Party Central Co妹妹ittee, the president, members of the National Assembly, Government employees and Việt Nam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Co妹妹ittee members visited the Mausoleum of Hồ Chí Minh in Hà Nội yesterday in co妹妹emoration of the President’s 一 二 六th birth anniversary (May 一 九, 一 八 九0- 二0 一 六). The delegation included Party General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng, President Trần Đại Quang, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân and President of the VFF Central Co妹妹ittee Nguyễn Thiện Nhân, along with many former and incumbent Party and State officials. The delegation also laid a wreath at the Monument to Fallen Soldiers. The same day, the Party Co妹妹ittee, the People’s Council, the People’s Co妹妹ittee and the Việt Nam Fatherland Front of HCM City also held incense offering ceremonies in memory of President Hồ Chí Minh at the municipal Hồ Chí Minh Museum and the Hồ Chí Minh Monument Park.President Hồ Chí Minh was born on May 一 九, 一 八 九0 in Kim Liên Co妹妹une, Nam Đàn District in the central province of Nghệ An. He devoted his life to the cause of national liberation. He worked for peace and progress in the world. He led the nation to success in its struggle for national independence, and helped establish the Democratic Republic of Việt Nam after the August Revolution in 一 九 四 五. He died in 一 九 六 九. — VNS
